About Robert Carlson

Robert Carlson is a REALTOR®  with eXp Realty and military veteran serving Wesley Chapel, Tampa, Lutz, New Tampa, and communities throughout the Tampa Bay area. He helps homeowners prepare, price, and market their properties; guides buyers through resale and new-construction purchases; and assists military and out-of-state clients relocating to or from the region, including those connected to MacDill Air Force Base.

An Air Force Academy graduate and retired U.S. Air Force lieutenant colonel, Robert served for 23 years in roles spanning special operations aviation, international relations, and foreign military sales. That experience shaped the way he approaches real estate: define the objective, study the facts, anticipate risks, communicate clearly, and follow through.

Robert believes clients deserve candid advice—not pressure or promises designed simply to win their business. His recommendations are grounded in market evidence and the complete financial picture, including pricing, property condition, insurance, flood considerations, taxes, HOA and CDD fees, commute, and monthly payment. Sellers receive a realistic assessment of value and competition. Buyers receive structured comparisons, careful due diligence, and clear explanations before making consequential decisions.

His professional education includes the Military Relocation Professional (MRP) certification, Pricing Strategy Advisor (PSA) certification, Luxury Homes Certification, and membership in eXp Luxury. He works with sellers, first-time buyers, military families, relocating professionals, new-construction buyers, luxury clients, and investors throughout Tampa Bay. Having personally commuted to and worked at MacDill AFB in Tampa, he has a pulse of the base, the great military and civilians who work and live there, and the missions. He has personally worked as a contractor at HQ USCENTCOM and HQ SOCCENT. He understands and has witnessed PCS moves and challenges at the base, and as a retired officer, he has been through the process multiple times. Robert lives in Wesley Chapel with his wife and their three children.  His wife, Irina Carlson, is also a REALTOR®  with eXp Realty LLC.
